- “I feel like it should be a dream project for anybody who is into video games!” he says. “The fact that we can collaborate with all these different people and characters and meld that all together without any inconsistencies is something I am very proud of.” Masahiro Sakurai
- I think smash bros (Ultimate) is a shining example of how to revive old game characters while keeping a modern feel, this is great for nostalgia and older fans of games as you can play as your favourite character thats why I love the amount of collaboration from all these different games/franchises it makes the game so entertaining and unpredictable, especially with the evolution through the smash games.
- Super Smash Bros. Ultimate (2018)
- Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS and Wii U (2014)
- Super Smash Bros. Brawl (2008)

Demographic : The demographic of my advertorial
Age range/Target audience 13+ to 33Gender: Men the majority of the gender for my viral video is majority male orientated
ethnicity/race: white American
America
The reason for this is that the majority of tournaments and events take place in America with the players participating in the tournaments mostly being from the USA, while being mostly white and towards their late 20's early 30's this is an estimate as I don't know the ages of these competitors as these tournaments are usually on a very large scale.
Viral video demographic definition: Viral video demographic is the target audience that the video is intended for thus the reason its become viral.
Use primary and secondary sources of research.
Primary: Interview, focus groups
I'm going to interview fellow smash players
Secondary: Web, Youtube, Books/magazine

https://kuroganehammer.com/Ultimate/Weight Before i located the companion app this is what i used to organise and figure out the weight list of all the characters from heaviest to lightest.
Super smash bros companion app - an app available on IOS and Android, giving you a heavily detailed insight to the characters in the game, as well as items and what each item does.
Research for my Viral video: The Sources of research i used for my advertorial
Use primary and secondary sources.
Primary: Interview, focus groups: the source author is me/who I interview and their opinion on SSBU is a positive one due to being players of the game/ wanting to compete competitively, these interviews will be describing the game and its aspects so will be a big part of my viral video
My 2 Interviews i conducted explored the game in a more personal way from a players perspective, describing the game features from modes you can play, to characters, styles and strategies as well as changs from the previous installments to the current version.
Compared to my idea of what i originally wanted to explore in referance to SSBU was shorter and less in-depth than i would've liked due to time constraints and the fact the video ad length was also limited.
When it came to feedback about my interviews this is what i was told:
- The gain was too high
- You could slightly hear an air conditioning unit in the background
- There was no banner with interviewee's names
- No music
To fix no.3 as i was restricted on time i got each interviwer behind the camera to introduce the person on screen.
To fix no.4 i went and got an copyright free track of the ultimate theme music playing it in the background but making sure it was quieter than the person speaking
Secondary: Web, Youtube, Books/magazine

Super smash bros companion app
How my secondary sources ontributed to a better understanfing of my product The 2 websites and the app compile into both my advertorial and my viral video as each source contains stats about the character, movesets, franchises they're from as well as their alternate colours and skins.
Also included is the multitude of stages and music tracks included in the game.
So I'm given all the information I need to compile my advertorial while creating am effective viral video suited to my viral video demographic.
They ways i will use these sources is to mould my DPS and interview questions to a person with knowledge of the game as this is necessary so my advertorial is successful in attracting its target demographic.
All of these sources with my knowledge of the game means there's nothing i dont know about ultimate.

Don't forget that after you find a source... describe the opinion of the source author... THEN write how you will apply all or part of this source in your advertorial or viral video.
ReplyDeleteThis page is still quite messy and needs all the headings filling out with explanations.
ReplyDelete1. Viral video demographic definition: ?
2. Explain what your interviews explored. Discuss and compare against your idea
3. Broadcast - Millions / Corporate - Thousands / Youtube - Hundreds - explain what this means in more detail!
Looks better! Bit more below...
ReplyDelete1. I would like you to write a bit more about your linked secondary sources and discuss what they were and how they contributed to a better understanding of the idea you had and how they developed the idea.
2. Discuss how you identified the feedback from your interviews of target audience people (2) to focus on the right message being on your Advertorial and camping material idea. This is important because it show that you listened to your feedback and acted on it making sure your idea related to your idea development = a good target audience profile being them!
3. Expand your target audience description to include a life style profile from the handout I sent you on Target Audience.
4. "Broadcast - Millions / Corporate - Thousands / Youtube - Hundreds"- explain what this means in more detail!
